Effective planning

Effective planning is about working out what you want to do, setting some goals and going for it. Develop a strategy for your organisation, work out a budget, check out the list of service providers [PDF, 151Kb] and see what other workplaces are doing. Inspire your employees, recruit people who share your vision and use them to encourage others.

Push Play

This campaign encourages all New Zealanders to incorporate physical activity into their everyday lives. It recommends adults do at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity a day and kids (aged 5-18 years) do at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity a day. Sufficient daily exercise can come from just choosing a slightly different way of doing something, like taking the stairs instead of the lift.

Coach with boys rugby team.

CoachCorp

This programme creates relationships between companies and community sport in order to get more people involved in sport and physical activity. Companies in the CoachCorp programme allow participating employees flexi-time to be coaches, managers and officials in school and club level sport.

Volunteer.

Volunteering

The important role of the 500,000 volunteers in sporting activities in New Zealand is outlined in the different areas in which volunteers work. Encouraging your employees to be a sports volunteer, such as a referee (and maybe offering work flexibility) is a way of getting them active.
